TEAMS

Twenty-one teams have qualified for the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest.

Any college or university that provides a curriculum in agriculture, soils, geosciences, and/or environmental science may enter a team in the National Collegiate Soils Contest if it has an interest in the contest and is selected to represent its region. The number of teams competing in the National Collegiate Soils Contest from each region is determined by the number of colleges and universities competing in each regional contest.

Region 1

The Northeast Region is represented by colleges and universities from Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Teams from the following schools will represent the Northeast Region at the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest:

—University of Maryland
—University of Rhode Island
—Penn State University

Region 2

The Southeast Region is represented by colleges and universities from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Teams from the following schools will represent the Southeast Region at the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest:

—Virginia Tech
—University of Tennessee—Knoxville
—Auburn University
—University of Kentucky
—Tennessee Tech University

Region 3

The Great Lakes Region is represented by colleges and universities from Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Teams from the following schools will represent the Southeast Region at the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest:

—Purdue University
—Northern Illinois University
—University of Wisconsin—Platteville

Region 4

The South Region is represented by colleges and universities from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas. Teams from the following schools will represent the Southeast Region at the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest:

—University of Arkansas
—Oklahoma State University
—Texas Tech University

Region 5

The Midwest Region is represented by colleges and universities from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Teams from the following schools will represent the Northwest Region at the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest:

—Iowa State University
—University of Nebraska—Lincoln
—University of Minnesota
—South Dakota State University

Region 6

The West Region is represented by colleges and universities from Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico. Teams from the following schools will represent the Northwest Region at the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest:

—Cal Poly—San Luis Obispo

Region 7

The Northwest Region is represented by colleges and universities from Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Teams from the following schools will represent the Northwest Region at the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest:

—Oregon State University
—Utah State University
