TRAVEL INFORMATION

AIR TRANSPORTATION

Commercial flights into and out of Morgantown Municipal Airport is provided by a regional jet service affiliated with United Airlines. Connections are through Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), with three departure flights with four arrival flights Monday thru Friday, and two flights daily on Saturday and Sunday.

For a larger selection of flights and carriers, travelers to Morgantown can also fly into and out of Pittsburgh International Airport. Located 80 miles north of Morgantown, travel time is approximately 90 minutes.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

The following rental car agencies have vehicles located on the Morgantown Municipal Airport grounds:

Nine different companies offer vehicles for rent from the Pittsburgh International Airport. All have counters on the baggage claim level of the Landside Terminal.

LODGING

There is no official hotel for participants. There are multiple hotels in the vicinity of the WVU campus that provide easy access to practice sites and venues for other events associated with the 2012 National Collegiate Soils Contest. However, two local hotels are offering special rates for participating schools.

EURO-SUITES HOTEL

A special rate is being offered to all participants by the Euro-Suites Hotel. The manager has agreed to extend the rate of $90.00 per suite (tax exempt if applicable) to all attendees. The Euro-Suites Hotel offers two-room suites that include kitchenettes, two flat screen televisions, and free Wi-Fi. All suites are newly renovated and all are non-smoking. The hotel also offers a complimentary breakfast each morning, and happy hour each evening with complimentary appetizers. Also available is a full service business center and 24-hour fitness center. To make a reservation, please call the hotel and ask for Kati Gear. Identify yourself as part of the WVU Division of Plant & Soil Sciences Group. Please reserve your rooms as soon as possible as space is limited. The block of rooms for the National Collegiate Soils Contest will be held until February 13, 2012. After that date, rooms will be released for general sale.

HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS

A special rate is also being offered to all participants by the Holiday Inn Express. The manager has agreed to extend the rate of $94.00 per room (tax exempt if applicable) to all attendees. The Holiday Inn Express offers amenities such as a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, indoor pool, spa, exercise facility, and business center with 24-hour access. All rooms are accessed through interior corridors and feature a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, two-line speakerphone with data port, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and free high speed wireless Internet access. An elevator is available for access on upper floors. To make a reservation, please call the hotel and ask for Jim Locklar. Identify yourself as part of the WVU Soil Judging Group. Please reserve your rooms as soon as possible as space is limited. The block of rooms for the National Collegiate Soils Contest will be held until March 1, 2012. After that date, rooms will be released for general sale.
